Rick is a seasoned public affairs professional, political consultant, and campaign strategist. Rick recently served as vice president for a global real estate investment group where he led public relations, government affairs, marketing, and investor relations throughout the United States and Canada.
Rick was a senior advisor and Director of Public Affairs during Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley’s administration. He served as a chief spokesperson for the O’Malley administration and was responsible for overseeing internal and external communications, political outreach, policy development, and intergovernmental affairs for the governor’s office.
As the father of toddlers at the time of the Sandy Hook School shooting in December 2012, Rick was compelled to take action against gun violence. He helped to revive Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence and in 2013 to pass nation-leading gun violence prevention legislation in Maryland. He continues this work because there is still so much work left to do.
