Myles Hicks

Executive Director

Myles currently serves as the Executive Director of Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence (MPGV). MPGV tackles the issue of gun violence from multiple angles, letting data and research guide these moves. Myles is excited to promote safer communities across Maryland by co-leading the Maryland Violence Prevention Coalition and joining the gun violence prevention movement.

 

Prior to joining MPGV, Myles served as the Executive Director of Maryland Rise, a nonprofit working to promote economic opportunity for all Marylanders and helped pass paid family and medical leave legislation. Myles began his career in consulting working across Maryland in multiple different industries.

 

Myles graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2017 where he was a Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellow. He continues to engage with his community during his free time. He was a 2020 Fellow of the New Leader Council’s (NLC) Maryland Chapter and currently serves on the board as curriculum co-chair. Myles also coaches track and field as assistant coach for Hammond High School and A Faster You Track Club.
