Update: MPGV defends Weapons-Free Higher Education

No Tags | News

Earlier this week, leaders and volunteers for Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence testified and attended a committee hearing to defend HB 159: Weapons-Free Higher Education. MPGV practically filled the hearing room!

This is the kind of fire we need to keep Marylanders safe from gun violence. As President Barack Obama said in his farewell speech, “Change only happens when ordinary people get involved, get engaged, and come together to demand it”. You all demanded change.

The fight isn’t over though. There will be more bills to support and fight, more hearings to attend, and more offices to call and visit! If you are interested in being more active in supporting gun violence prevention legislation, please email me at liz@mdpgv.org.

We know your time is limited and a monetary donation to support this important work may be more feasible for you at this time. If you are able, please support us in whatever amount you can afford.

The current troubling political climate demands more of all of us than ever before. We must work to fight the gun lobby’s agenda on both the federal and state level to uphold the public health and safety for American families.

Thank you all for you support,
